Description Of Duties

Under the direct supervision of Planning Officer and overall supervision of WHO Deputy Representative, the incumbent will:

  • Develop an innovative partnership and resource mobilization strategy and plan for WCO Indonesia to ensure sustainable financing for technical activities.
  • Identify opportunities to develop new and existing synergies with other UN agencies and development partners
  • Prepare information for Ministry of Health, UN agencies and other development partners on the strategy, design, relevance and impact of programmes, to advocate for the work of WHO Indonesia.
  • Build and maintain close relationships with the ASEAN Secretariat.
  • Establish and manage a network of donor contacts.
  • Participate in donor coordination meetings; contribute to negotiations for donor contributions
  • In close cooperation with the technical teams, contribute to the identification, design, formulation and negotiation of new projects and programmes; draft concept notes and project documents for discussion with partners.
  • Examine donor interests and requirements.
  • Maintain project calendars and milestones; analyse information on project activities and monitor progress towards targets.
  • In coordination with the Communications and Planning teams, research, write and edit information material in support to resource mobilization activities.
  • Liaise with SEARO/HQ on the required legal and financial clearances and engagement with donors whose agreements are managed by HQ.
  • Perform any other duties, as required by the supervisor.
  • Submit an end of assignment report (mandatory).

Required Qualifications

Education

Essential: Bachelor’s degree in health or social sciences, international relations, development management, communications, marketing, economics, business or public administration from a recognized University

Desirable: Advanced university degree (master’s level or above) in the above fields. Specific studies in resource mobilization, communication, and/or development. Training in donor intelligence, proposal writing, and general project management.

Experience

Essential: At least five years of experience in fundraising activities, writing grant proposals, donor reports and related documents, experience in the development of effective partnership arrangements, including some years of international experience.

Desirable: Prior working experience with WHO/UN, or with an international nongovernmental or recognized humanitarian organization.

WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars.
